IDELFONSO BESSA DOS REIS NOGUEIRA
Brasil

Idelfonso Nogueira is an Associate Professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), where he leads a laboratory focused on developing disruptive technologies based on molecular simulation, artificial intelligence, advanced control, systems optimization, digitalization, and automation. He is an internationally recognized scientist and collaborates with several international societies, including Applied Thermodynamics and Molecular Simulation (ATOMS, UFRJ, Brazil), Laboratory of Separation and Reaction Engineering (LSRE, FEUP, Portugal), Postgraduation Program in Industrial Engineering and Postgraduation Programm in Mechatronics (PEI/PPGM, UFBA, Brazil), Julia Computing/Massachusetts Institute of Technology (United States of America). He concluded his Ph.D. in Chemical and Biological Engineering (Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, Portugal, with a doctoral internship at Tampere University of Technology, Finland) in 2018. Since then, he has contributed to the field with over 50 peer-reviewed publications (H-index 11 and approximately 430 citations). His research has been supported by public agencies and industries from different countries, and he has led several funded projects in collaboration with these organizations. His laboratory currently consists of one visiting professor, 5 Ph.D. students, 4 master's students, and 1 researcher supported by several publicly funded and industrially sponsored projects. Through his leadership and expertise, his group is making important contributions to developing advanced technologies and materials that will significantly impact a range of fields, including energy storage, the oil and gas industry, chemical processing, products development (with highlight in the Flavour&Fragrances industry), and environmental sustainability.
